Research Associate

RWR Advi­so­ry Group is hir­ing a Research Asso­ciate to assist with our company’s work uncov­er­ing rel­e­vant eco­nom­ic activ­i­ty from open-source doc­u­ments and con­duct­ing analy­sis of the strate­gic con­text and inter­na­tion­al secu­ri­ty rel­e­vance of that activ­i­ty.  The work involves track­ing busi­ness activ­i­ty and would ben­e­fit from under­stand­ing issues at the inter­sec­tion of eco­nom­ics, finance, defense, for­eign pol­i­cy, risk, geopol­i­tics and nation­al secu­ri­ty.  The posi­tion pri­mar­i­ly focus­es on issues relat­ed to Chi­na and Rus­sia.  Man­darin lan­guage abil­i­ty is preferred.

The Research Asso­ciate would be Wash­ing­ton, DC-based and would assist with the track­ing of Chi­nese and Russ­ian busi­ness activ­i­ty as well as help draft ana­lyt­ic prod­ucts inter­pret­ing the sig­nif­i­cance of this activ­i­ty for clients.  The posi­tion entails online research, writ­ing and analy­sis.  The suc­cess­ful can­di­date must be a U.S. cit­i­zen and have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a rel­e­vant field, such as eco­nom­ics, busi­ness, inter­na­tion­al affairs or region­al stud­ies.  The fol­low­ing skills are required.

  • Strong writ­ing skills.
  • Strong research skills and expe­ri­ence, with keen atten­tion to detail and qual­i­ty control.
  • Ana­lyt­ic ability.
  • An abil­i­ty to work under dai­ly deadlines.
  • Expe­ri­ence and knowl­edge of mat­ters per­tain­ing to China.
  • An under­stand­ing of inter­na­tion­al polit­i­cal econ­o­my and finance.
  • Com­pe­tence with Microsoft Office.

Senior Analyst

RWR Advi­so­ry Group is hir­ing for a Senior Ana­lyst to assist with our company’s work pro­vid­ing analy­sis to clients regard­ing the risk and inter­na­tion­al secu­ri­ty aspects of Chi­nese eco­nom­ic activ­i­ty.  The work involves scru­ti­niz­ing the busi­ness activ­i­ty of for­eign cor­po­ra­tions and writ­ing and ana­lyz­ing about the ways in which such activ­i­ty inter­sects with non-finan­cial risk fac­tors in the areas of nation­al secu­ri­ty, human rights, geopol­i­tics, and rep­u­ta­tion­al risk.

The Senior Ana­lyst would be Wash­ing­ton, DC-based and would be respon­si­ble for edit­ing and prepar­ing reports that sum­ma­rize and inter­pret the risk and threat fac­tors present at the inter­sec­tion of eco­nom­ics, finance, nation­al secu­ri­ty, human rights and relat­ed sub­ject mat­ter.  Knowl­edge of mat­ters relat­ed to Chi­na is required.  The suc­cess­ful can­di­date must be a U.S. cit­i­zen and have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in a rel­e­vant field, such as eco­nom­ics, busi­ness, inter­na­tion­al affairs or region­al stud­ies and have 7+ years of expe­ri­ence in this field.  The fol­low­ing skills are required.

  • 7+ years of experience.
  • Strong writ­ing and edit­ing skills and relat­ed experience.
  • Research skills and expe­ri­ence, with keen atten­tion to detail and qual­i­ty control.
  • Ana­lyt­ic ability.
  • An abil­i­ty to work under deadlines.
