On July 18, Huawei selected Portugal to host a new optimization center for 4G and 5G networks that will serve several European countries. The regional support center will open in September. On the same day, Huawei also announced it will invest $170 million to set up a regional headquarters and upgrade its technical support center in Pakistan. $100 million will go toward general investment, $55 million toward the regional headquarters, and $15 million to the technical support center.
