On June 4, 2021, the Financial Times published an article on amendments made by the Biden Administration to Executive Order 13959 that placed investment prohibitions for Americans on certain Chinese companies determined to be involved in the Chinese defense sector or surveillance technology. RWR’s CEO, Roger Robinson, observed, “At first glance, it’s quite an extraordinary list of Chinese corporate names. The momentum begun by the previous administration on capital markets sanctions appears to have been sustained and built on.”
