RWR’s Roger Robinson Comments in Financial Times on DoD List of PLA Contractors

On June 24, the Finan­cial Times report­ed on a new list of Chi­nese com­pa­nies pub­lished by the U.S. Depart­ment of Defense that iden­ti­fies those enti­ties deter­mined to be both tied to the Chi­nese mil­i­tary (the Peo­ples Lib­er­a­tion Army) and oper­at­ing in the the Unit­ed States. The list was pub­lished per require­ments laid out in the 1999 Nation­al Defense Autho­riza­tion Act that had nev­er been ful­filled and includ­ed sev­er­al pub­licly-trad­ed com­pa­nies. RWR’s CEO, Roger Robin­son, offered the fol­low­ing com­ments in this piece.

The com­plete dis­con­nect between the US secu­ri­ty com­mu­ni­ty and Wall Street fund man­agers and index providers will prob­a­bly prove unsus­tain­able, espe­cial­ly for the Wall Street folks

Com­pa­ny names iden­ti­fied on the list, includ­ed: Chi­na Tele­com, Chi­na Mobile, Inspur, Huawei and Hikvision.
