Washington Post: Huawei Helped North Korea Build Wireless Network

On July 22, the Washington Post reported that internal documents it obtained showed that Chinese telecommunications company Huawei played a role in building North Korea’s wireless network.  The documents point to a partnership between Huawei and a state-owned enterprise called Panda International Information Technology Co. Ltd.  As noted in the article, the revelation raises questions about Huawei having potentially breached U.S. export controls in place on the re-export of U.S. equipment and technology to North Korea.  Huawei spokesperson, Joe Kelly, denied the report.
